Women's Empowerment Project

For several years, AROH has worked with some of the local community women to help them help themselves by learning basic sewing (including the beautiful quilts shown here), starting small businesses (the Peace Corps helped out greatly by donating goats recently), and other crafts and projects. Many of the women have not had a chance to finish school so some adult education is often included. The women use the money raised to help pay their children's school fees, for healthcare for themselves and their families, and to re-invest in their businesses and community. Here is a picture of some of the women celebrating at the opening of the AROH clinic:

AROH hopes to continue to support these women in their creative entrepreneurial endeavors and also to continue to reach out internationally to help build relationships and connections so that they can continue to thrive and grow in our increasingly connected global economy.
